Stand Up To Cancer Returns September 7th

One in two men and one in three women in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetimes, and almost eight million people worldwide die from cancer each year.  The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) continues to fight this terrible disease with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).

Stand Up To Cancer will return for a third year to primetime on Friday, September 7^th with a star-studded telethon to raise funds for cancer research.  After two incredibly successful telecasts in 2008 and 2010, Oscar winning actress Gweneth Paltrow will join Emmy award winning producer Joel Gallen to produce the 2012 show.

This year’s show will feature presentations by today’s biggest film and TV stars, as well as live performances by top recording artists.  Celebrities will also man a multimedia bank that will allow viewers to interact with participating talent via both phone and social media.  Viewers will also be able to donate via phone or text as well as at standup2cancer.org. One hundred percent of public donations will go directly to innovative cancer research.

The live, one-hour event will air commercial free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, HBO, HBO Latino, LOGO, LMN (Lifetime Movie Network), MLB Network, mun2, Palladia and VH1 at 8:00 PM ET and PT / 7:00 PM CT.  For more information, visit http://standup2cancer.org/.
