We were deeply saddened to learn of Evelyn Lauder’s death. A consummate businesswoman, philanthropist and activist, Evelyn worked passionately – and effectively – toward prevention and a cure for breast cancer.
Evelyn’s impact is profound. Research supported by The Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF), which she established, has helped save lives and significantly improved the quality of care and survivorship for tens of thousands of breast cancer patients. To enhance awareness, Evelyn created the now iconic Pink Ribbon campaign that has done so much to help people around the world express their solidarity in the cause of defeating breast cancer.
Our hearts go out to her loving husband Leonard, her sons and grandchildren, everyone at BCRF, and all of her Estée Lauder colleagues. We share their pride in Evelyn’s achievements and her steadfast commitment to improving the health of women and families. Not only did Evelyn want women to feel beautiful, she wanted them to be healthy and to lead full and abundant lives.
Her passionate advocacy on behalf of women’s health will always be an inspiration to us all.
