President Bill Clinton announced the launch of EIF's Hunger Free America through a special public service announcement taped at the Oval Office in
Fall of 2000. In his remarks Clinton acknowledges the organizations and
corporatations coming together to raise awareness about the issue of childhood hunger in America, "It's a national tragedy that in this Land of Plenty, we continue to see the devastating consequences of hunger. It will take all of us working together to make a difference, but I know your heart holds that freedom from hunger is every child's birthright."
"I'm trying to help other kids understand that eating at school is cool, says EIF Ambassador, Daryl Sabara, who has wrapped
shooting Spy Kids 3. "It's really important to eat a good breakfast because you really can't learn on an empty stomach. If you
don't have anything to eat, then you'll probably be thinking about food instead of school."
"My wish this that other kids eat breakfast like I always do," adds Sabara. "And if you're rushing to get to school or your
parents are working, eating at school can really help them out and you get really good food so you can do well in school and
get good grades."
