Center on Hunger and Poverty, Co-founder

The Center on Hunger and Poverty is the nation's leading scientific authority on domestic hunger. Located at Brandeis University's Heller Graduate School, the Center was created in 1990 by Dr. J. Larry Brown, to bring scholarly authority to bear on the problems of poverty and hunger in America. Its nonpartisan analyses are used by Congress, state policymakers and the media, as well as by hunger organizations in all fifty states.

End Hunger Network, Co-founder

The End Hunger Network (EHN) is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 by actor Jeff Bridges and other concerned individuals from the Los Angeles entertainment community to create awareness and resources to end world hunger. During the succeeding decade, the EHN helped develop and produce a number of innovative educational and fundraising media events, including the historic "Live Aid Concert."

In 1990, the EHN began to focus its efforts on ending hunger in the United States, undertaking many important events, productions and programs including "Prime Time to End Hunger", "Hidden in America" and "Fast Forward to End Hunger". These efforts have raised millions of dollars for local hunger organizations throughout America and heightened our nation's awareness of the persistence of hunger in our country.
