Entertainment Industry Foundation Chosen as Beneficiary of Inaugural Cruising for a Cause Event
Caribbean Cruise Sets Sail October 16, 2004
SEAL BEACH, Calif.( December 3, 2002) -- Seal Beach, Calif.-based Cruising for a Cause (CFAC), the company founded
to create vacation experiences for socially conscious travelers, today announced it has named the Entertainment Industry
Foundation (EIF) as the designated organization to receive a $400 donation from each purchased cruise fare from the
company's inaugural event.
EIF will direct the proceeds from Cruising for a Cause to its Hunger Free America program, which is dedicated to raising
awareness and funds to help end the tragedy of childhood hunger in America.
"EIF's Hunger Free America is at the forefront in the fight against childhood hunger, which made them an ideal partner,"
said Clint Boneau, president, Cruising for a Cause. "Many people do not realize that there are children in the United
States who, on a daily basis, go without food. We hope our partnership with this terrific Foundation will raise both
awareness and significant funds."
The introductory cruise is an 8-day/7-night, entertainment-driven Caribbean vacation aboard Holland America's new Zuiderdam
ship. The ship will set sail on October 16, 2004 from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., cruising to Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, St.
Kitts and Nassau before returning to Florida on October 23. Cruise fares range from $2000 to $3800 per person, based on
double occupancy.
"Childhood hunger in America is a hidden epidemic that robs children of the opportunity to grow up healthy and learn well
in school," said Jeff Bridges, co-founder and chair of Hunger Free America. "This is a problem we can solve when we all
work together."
"We are very proud to be involved with CFAC's inaugural cruise event and its mission," said Danielle Guttman, executive
vice president, Entertainment Industry Foundation. "This cruise creates an innovative way for people to come together,
enjoy themselves and feel good about making a difference for others - especially the 13 million children at risk of hunger
in America today."
Cruising for a Cause and EIF are preparing a celebrity-driven week of festivities aboard the ship, and expect to feature
some of the Foundation's biggest supporters. In addition to the enhanced entertainment, traditional amenities and daytrips
throughout the best of the Caribbean will be offered.
Tickets are available for purchase at www.cruisingforacause.com or by calling (800) 538-0203. More information also may be
