Unbeknownst to me, two close relatives had already struggled with this condition - but we simply never talked about that kind of thing in our family. So when I began to question relatives, and it came out that I was not the first, not even the second - I had to wonder why we never talked about it.

So you better believe that since then I have had a conversation with everyone in my family about Colon Cancer and I urge you to do the same. This is a completely curable Cancer, if detected early enough. And knowing your family history will help you make more informed decisions, so you're not like I was - believing that I had plenty of time to be screened.
