NEW YORK, NY (April 13, 2004) - On Saturday, April 24, 2004, Katie Couric and The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) will be joined by some of the biggest names in film, music, television and theatre for Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Richard Rodgers, aboard Queen Mary 2, the world's largest ocean liner. Antonio Banderas, Carly Simon, Dakota Fanning, Glenn Close, and Steve Tyrell add their names the roster of performers - which includes Brian Stokes Mitchell, Christine Ebersole, Danny DeVito, Harry Connick, Jr., Heather Headley, Jon Bon Jovi, Nathan Lane, Peter Cincotti and Whoopi Goldberg - donating their time to sing in the second HOLLYWOOD HITS BROADWAY, a musical extravaganza featuring the songs of Richard Rodgers.

HOLLYWOOD HITS BROADWAY will benefit EIF's National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA) and the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center, named in honor of Couric's late husband, who died of colon cancer in 1998.

"I grew up listening to Rodgers & Hammerstein and, as an adult, fell in love with the music of Rodgers and Hart. Richard Rodgers has such an incredible body of work, I am absolutely thrilled to be saluting him at our gala, Couric said. "I can't wait to hear how our performers will interpret these songs and make them their own. I'm sure they will bring back lots of memories for many people, and for some, remind them of their 'not quite ready for prime time' performances in high school productions!"

"I'm overwhelmed by the incredible array of stars from all walks of the entertainment community who are making a personal commitment and donating their time, which -- in turn -- directly benefits our work to combat the #2 cancer killer in this country. Only EIF could bring together such an amazing collection of performers under one roof. Our Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich, Music Director Larry Blank and Choreographer Sandy Roveta have quite a show in store for our guests, including a few surprise performances," Couric said.

The benefit will take place in New York City aboard Cunard Line's Queen Mary 2. The $800-million luxury liner will arrive in New York, its U.S. homeport, for the first time on April 22. Cunard Line has generously donated the use of the ship for the evening.

In addition to Katie Couric, co-chairs include: Cunard Line President & COO Pamela Conover; Bloomingdale's Chairman & CEO Michael Gould; American International Group Chairman & CEO Maurice R. Greenberg; Olympus America, Inc. President & COO F. Mark Gumz; Creative Artists Agency Managing Partner Kevin Huvane; GE Chairman & CEO Jeffrey R. Immelt; Salamander Middleburg LLC President & CEO Sheila C. Johnson; Goldman, Sachs Vice Chairman Robert Kaplan; members of the Monahan Family; Miramax Films Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein; Carsey Werner Mandabach Partner Tom Werner; GE Vice Chairman and NBC Chairman & CEO Robert C. Wright; Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Chairman and CEO Alex Yemenidjian and his wife, Arda Yemenidjian.

"Last year's HOLLYWOOD HITS BROADWAY was considered the hottest ticket in town. We weren't quite sure how to top it," says Lisa Paulsen, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. "A mega-star performance combined with a party on the most exclusive passenger ship ever built is a great way to start. We are delighted that Cunard has joined our efforts."

"We are proud to celebrate the arrival of Queen Mary 2 in New York City for the first time by hosting this exciting event benefiting the NCCRA," stated Deborah L. Natansohn, Cunard's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Cunard is delighted to help combat gastrointestinal cancers by donating our magnificent new flagship for the night."

FACT SHEET INFORMATION

About Colorectal Cancer
Colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death for both men and women in the U.S., causing more than 55,000 deaths a year, though it is also one of the most preventable, with a higher than 90% cure rate with early detection.

About National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance
The NCCRA is dedicated to the eradication of colon cancer by promoting education about the importance of early medical screening and funding cutting-edge research to develop betters tests, treatments and ultimately, a cure. The NCCRA was co-founded in March of 2000 by journalist Katie Couric, cancer activist Lilly Tartikoff, and the Entertainment Industry Foundation. As a result of the attention NCCRA and NBC's TODAY Show have focused on colorectal cancer, the number of colonoscopy screenings has increased almost 20% since March 2000. Researchers at the University of Michigan have referred to this as the "Couric Effect."

About the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health
The Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center, named in honor of Katie Couric's late husband, will provide health and educational services, state-of-the-art treatment and support for people who have or are at risk for gastrointestinal cancer. Opening in March 2004, the Center will provide the best available patient care offered in a seamless and convenient manner, with specialists in gastro-enterology, colorectal surgery, oncology, a nurse/case manager, nutritionist and genetic counsellor all working as a team. The Center is founded on an innovative model of compassionate caring for not only the patient but the entire family. The Center, located in one of the foremost academic medical centers in the country, will serve as an educational resource regarding preventative care and will conduct progressive clinical research, focusing on the most promising trials and treatments.
