Saks Fifth Avenue's Unforgettable Evening was established to raise money for women's cancer research, and recognize one individual for his or her unwavering commitment to the cause. Co-founded by
Kelly Chapman Meyer, Anne Douglas, Quinn Ezralow, Marion Laurie, and
Jamie Tisch with the
Entertainment Industry Foundation, the Women's Cancer Research Fund supports innovative research, education and outreach directed at developing more effective approaches to the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of all women's cancers.
Through an ambitious, first of its kind scientific project called EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund Biomarker Discovery Project; the group has brought together world-class scientists, including four Nobel Laureates, to develop technologies for screening women for early stage breast cancer when long-term survival is greater than 90%. The Women's Cancer Research Fund is also funding research being conducted at prestigious Los Angles-based, NCI accredited medical institutions, including: UCLA-Johnsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and USC-Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center.
