WHAT:
Dior celebrated the worldwide launch of its latest timepiece, Christal, designed by John Galliano for Christian Dior. The timepiece can only be described as the ultimate accessory for any woman. Innovation and creativity combine sapphire crystal and steel are taken to their extremes. It has the same weight and feel of a gentleman's watch, but has the rocks that make it unmistakably feminine.

To commemorate the launch of a timepiece that itself could be considered a work of art, Dior, in conjunction with EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund, hosted an intimate dinner at the home of some of the world's finest artwork-the stunning Getty Museum.

It was an unprecedented evening as the museum opened the rotunda lobby of the main building for the first time for a private dinner. Event producer, Rabin Rodgers, created an extraordinary event which incorporated clean, modern elements with a bit of rock and roll sensibility, as unique and multifaceted as the timepieces themselves. The night began with cocktails outside at the Frank Gehry benches. Guests were seated at a long, dramatic tables covered in a custom-designed linen table dressings with specially made Eames wire chairs. Intimate lounges were erected which incorporated retro inspired pieces from internationally acclaimed, acrylic furniture designer, Charles Hollis Jones.

The night was co-hosted by EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund, a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, which was established to support innovative research, education, and outreach directed at the development of more effective approaches to the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of all women's cancers.
