Oscar winner and women's cancer advocate Hilary Swank received the 2008 Courage Award, presented by Morgan Freeman with a very humbling and touching tribute. The award honored her collaborations with EIF's WCRF to further cancer research and education, and highlights Swank's passionate commitment to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a program created in partnership between Pantene and EIF's WCRF. Recently, Swank cut off her hair for the program which encourages people to grow, cut, and donate their healthy hair to make free real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.
The event featured a special performance by the multi-platinum, GRAMMY-award winning artist Mary J. Blige.
Additionally, Pantene and Juicy Couture's Pam Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor were recognized for their major contributions of support to EIF's WCRF. They were presented with the Corporate Visionary and Nat King Cole awards respectively. Proctor & Gamble's Global External Relations Officer Charlotte Otto accepted the Corporate Visionary award on behalf of Pantene.
