Make a difference by supporting EIF.
EIF’s National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA) is dedicated to the eradication of colorectal cancer by promoting the importance of early medical screening and funding research to develop better tests, treatments, and ultimately a cure. The initiative was co-founded in March of 2000 by Katie Couric, Lilly Tartikoff, and EIF. Click here to make a donation.

NCCRA’s public service campaigns, as well as others conducted by an array of colon cancer advocacy groups, have had a measurable impact on the number of people who get screened for colorectal cancer.
The death rate for colorectal cancer is declining. According to the American Cancer Society, the rate decreased by about 10% from 2003 to 2005 – more than any other form of cancer.
One of the NCCRA’s most effective public awareness campaigns, Screen For Life, is a partnership with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the primary federal agency for conducting and supporting public health activities in the United States.
With a series of print and broadcast public service announcements, the Screen for Life campaign educates people about the potentially lifesaving value of colorectal cancer screening. The campaign which features Katie Couric, Morgan Freeman, Terrence Howard, Diane Keaton and Jimmy Smits, has yielded extraordinary results. More than $30 million of ad space and air time has generously been donated by EIF’s media partners. The CDC views the campaign as one of the most effective it has ever undertaken to promote screening.
