Know Your Rights Camp Program Manager

​​​SUMMARY

Know Your Rights Camp, a fund of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF” or the “Foundation”), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is seeking a Program Manager. KYRC’s mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, mass mobilization, and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders. Currently, the KYRC Autopsy Initiative provides victims’ families with free secondary autopsy services. The Program Manager is a critical client-facing position of the Autopsy Initiative that will lead case management and ensure that services are provided effectively and efficiently. This hybrid position is located in Los Angeles, CA, and requires in-office work three days per week (Tuesday through Thursday, subject to change).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

EIF/KYRC reserves the right to modify the job responsibilities listed below.

Oversee all aspects of case management and handle day-to-day operations as the primary point of contact for victims’ families obtaining high-quality autopsy services
Manage the intake process to ensure that autopsy requests, responses, letters, acceptances, and nonacceptances are sent efficiently and documented properly
Track the services for each accepted family to ensure all autopsy services are obtained while responding promptly to questions and concerns during the term of services
Perform administrative tasks efficiently including but not limited to managing intake of incoming autopsy requests, scheduling, screening emails and voicemails, note-taking during meetings, and reporting relevant updates
Ensure that procedures and protocols are being followed and offer recommendations and insight to improve services and provide resources to best support victims’ families
Strategize with Legal Program Director to implement strategic plans to enhance and expand autopsy services while addressing changing program needs of the Initiative
Mediate and address issues that occur with victims’ family members and other necessary parties involved in the autopsy procedure process
Screen inquiries of staff members, volunteers, and pathologists
Assist with transportation and invoices and document billing matters as needed
Represent the Initiative during webinars, conferences, panels, and community events
Collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to spread awareness
Develop and implement outreach strategies; Host workshops and events
Report relevant updates, goals, and progress to the Legal Program Director
Collaborate with other departments and administrative staff as needed.
Attend departmental and other meetings as required.
Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
An advanced degree in social work, law, or psychology is beneficial.
5 years of relevant experience, with 2-4 years of relevant experience in client relations, law, or nonprofit management, OR a combination of education and experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Business acumen with working knowledge of GSuite, Excel, Powerpoint, and Asana.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Some travel required.
Ability to work on-site 3 days weekly (Tuesday through Thursday), subject to change.
Ability to sit for extended periods
Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding
Ability to view a computer monitor
Operate standard office equipment
Lift and carry boxes up to ten pounds
File and retrieve documents

SALARY RANGE: $75,000- $85,000
