EIF SNAPSHOT – DECEMBER 2022 |
FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO |
Dear Friends,
As we reflect on 2022 and our 80th anniversary, we are grateful for your collaborative spirit and the generosity of those who invested in and advanced the efforts of EIF and our philanthropic partners. Together, we made a lasting impact on many lives.
We are humbled by the opportunity to serve partners dedicated to social justice, ending domestic and gender-based violence, improving the health and well-being of youth and underserved communities, providing humanitarian relief, and much more.
Thank you for standing with us to celebrate remarkable partners like Charlize Theron, who was honored at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment breakfast last week. Charlize’s dedication to helping young people in Africa continues to transform lives and uplift communities who benefit from the care and spirit she infuses in CTAOP.
This spirit, and the inspiring commitment of all our partners to make the world a better place, carries us into 2023.
We have an important legacy to uphold, and it requires the involvement and commitment of the entire industry. At year end, in the season of giving, thank you for your generous support of EIF.
Happy holidays to all,
- Nicole Sexton |

PHILANTHROPIC PARTNER SPOTLIGHT |
KEVIN LOVE FUND |
The Kevin Love Fund strives to inspire people to live their healthiest lives while providing the tools to achieve physical and emotional well being. After publicly sharing his own battle with anxiety and depression, Kevin Love, of the Cleveland Cavaliers, became committed to normalizing the conversation around mental health, opening up the public discussion and empowering people to pursue mental wellness with the same vigor as they do physical health.
The Kevin Love Fund successfully launched its social-emotional learning curriculum in middle schools, high schools, and on college campuses nationwide this year. The program is now being delivered to more than 300 schools and after-school programs, serving over 10,000 students. Kevin's team trains teachers, school counselors, coaches, and athletic directors and works with any schools and after-school programs interested in additional support to further customize the curriculum to their students' needs.
Kevin and his team have participated in mental health panels, community and school summits, and interviews and podcasts to advocate for youth mental health around the country. They have also collaborated with dozens of non-profit organizations to plan and host events to support educators' mental health. The Kevin Love Fund runs a summer fellowship program as well as a youth advisory council that helps to analyze and create additional curriculum content. They are working to create a digital platform for an online community of educators to share curriculum experiences, student work, and extension activities. Kevin is continuously working with his team of educators and scientific advisors to expand the curriculum with new lessons, activities, and videos, as well as create an elementary school adaptation of the curriculum. |
