EIF SNAPSHOT – JANUARY 2020
FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO
Dear Friends,
I hope that 2020 has greeted you with a joyful new beginning and a fresh outlook on the world. It has brought me renewed energy and inspired a deeper sense of community as we work together to make a positive impact.
To that end, thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Australia Bushfire Fund. Your donations are supporting first responders, survivors and animals in need of rescue. We are incredibly proud of the work accomplished through our disaster relief campaign. Your generosity last year enabled us to serve more than 1 million beneficiaries.
Our new year at EIF marks the official launch of Delivering Jobs. With our partners at Autism Speaks, Best Buddies and Special Olympics, we’re committed to creating pathways to 1 million jobs for people with neurodifferences by 2025. Please join us in advocating for the 81% of adults with developmental differences who do not have a paid job. We can’t reach our goal without your help!
As always, your support of EIF campaigns and philanthropic partners is deeply appreciated.

CAMPAIGN SPOTLIGHT
Delivering Jobs
EIF has joined forces with Autism Speaks, Best Buddies and
Special Olympics to launch Delivering Jobs, a campaign designed to create pathways to one million employment and leadership opportunities for neurodiverse adults — those with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental differences — by 2025.
Delivering Jobs challenges all businesses, big and small, to identify ways they can incorporate this untapped workforce into their diversity and inclusion plans; ensure that nuerodiverse job seekers have access to a minimum of 1% of employment and leadership opportunities; and empower HR personnel to invest in the long-term success of all employees. The campaign also equips neurodiverse job seekers with resources to prepare for employment and leadership opportunities.
The campaign announcement this past October garnered more than 400 million media impressions, drawing national attention to this vital unmet need. Through our public service announcements and social media, we are rallying the public to take a stand and work within their communities and workplaces to advocate for people with autism and other intellectual and developmental differences. Join us by following @DeliveringJobs. Let's build the workforce of the future.

Increasing the Number of Women in Music
PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
She Is The Music
She Is The Music (SITM), a global nonprofit founded by Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group Jody Gerson, 15-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys, Jungle City Studios owner Ann Mincieli, and WME partner and head of East Coast music Samantha Kirby Yoh, is working to increase the number of women in music. This past week they unveiled ‘SITM12’ — a groundbreaking campaign committed to providing SITM with major resources in support of the nonprofit’s three pillars: all-female songwriting sessions, an industry database of women creators, and a mentorship program.
SITM intends to radically shift the number of women working in music and substantially increase its impact across the industry. Named for the 12% of female songwriters represented in music over the past 8 years, SITM12 offers companies, artists, philanthropists and the wider music community avenues to improve access and opportunity to women in the industry.
The campaign’s first partners to commit include: Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, Disney Music Group, Billboard, Spotify, ASCAP, BMI, Friends At Work, Women Nation/Live Nation, WME, ICM Partners, CAA, UTA, Paradigm, American Express, YouTube/Google, Recording Academy, Facebook/Instagram, Gucci, and Annenberg Foundation.

INDUSTRY-WIDE RESPONSE
We recognize that the entertainment industry has deep ties to Australia—from talent to production, friends and colleagues. In order to assist the outpouring of interest from our community to help those directly affected by the devastating bushfires, EIF is stewarding an industry-wide response fund.
As with our local fire fund efforts, monies donated to the AUSTRALIA BUSHFIRE FUND will directly support first responders, survivors, and animals in need of rescue.
Thank you for your generosity during this time of crisis.

With Amari (Strength) and Kibou (Hope) on Our Side
PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project
We applaud our partners at the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) for an incredibly impactful 2019 and are excited to help them realize their vision for 2020.
In the first half of 2019, CTAOP reached nearly 200,000 South African youth across their program partners and Choma mobile app. More than 35,000 youth were educated about HIV and sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and more than 7,000 received psychosocial support, counseling, or empowerment services.
The CTAOP Youth Leaders Scholarship (YLS) program was created to cultivate young leaders who identify challenges in their communities and conceptualize a project they will implement to create positive change. The inaugural cohort of young leaders named themselves "AMARI KIBOU" because, in their own words, "with Amari (Strength) and Kibou (Hope) on our side, we can conquer everything that comes our way."
Held at the Africa Center in New York City's Harlem, CTAOP's annual Ubuntu (I am because we are) Event celebrated South African culture, cuisine and creativity while focusing on CTAOP's mission to ensure that young South Africans are afforded the right to thrive, live healthy HIV-free lives, and reach their full potential.
This year, CTAOP will launch the Swidler Connection Summit. Named after late CTAOP Ubuntu Council member and changemaker, Alisa Swidler, this summit will bring together CTAOP Program Partners for a yearly gathering to connect, share learnings, and build a strong support network.
ABOUT CTAOP
The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) was created in 2007 by Charlize Theron, Academy Award-winning actor and UN Messenger of Peace, with the hope of making a difference in fighting HIV in her home country of South Africa. CTAOP connects community-based, African organizations to funding, capacity building, and broader resources. This allows these organizations to reach more young people with innovative programs and tools to help keep themselves and their peers safe from the disease.
