The Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program (EICOP) identifies, recruits, and develops diverse student leaders from our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other minority-serving institutions (MSIs) for careers in the entertainment, media, communications, sports, music, and technology industries.

Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program (EICOP) is an educational arts and workforce development program dedicated to recruiting, training and developing the best and brightest diverse student leaders from our nation’s Historically Black Colleges & Universities with its premiere internship program HBCU in LA for careers across all aspects of the entertainment, media, communications, sports, music, and technology industries.

In 2017, EICOP joined forces with The White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (WHI-HBCU) under the Obama administration to launch its signature, HBCU in LA Internship Program (now HBCU LA l NY). This innovative diversity pipeline development initiative is the first of its kind to provide underrepresented students with critical wraparound support with paid housing, mentorship, career development, and the opportunity to participate in paid internships.

EICOP has expanded HBCU in LA l NY from summer-only to year-round with programming and career opportunities, mentorship, professional development, and seminars. We provide the tools and resources needed to successfully get hired and navigate the workplace post-graduation, closing a systemic opportunity gap for underrepresented students while meeting our partners’ equity, diversity, and inclusion goals.
